Year I started up their Start up year at high school in an entrepreneurial spirit. Starting off their day by completing market research-finding out what people in our school love and hate about chocolate. They explored the idea of fair trade and the origins of chocolate. They then got to taste a range of chocolate types before jumping straight into a marketing project designing their own sweet tree.
Our Explorers in year II took a trip around the world – visiting all of the continents, in Asia they stopped in Japan where they created their own origami before heading to Africa to learn about the country’s colonial past. All in all they had a successful trip and learned some interesting things about other cultures.
Year III Leaders took the challenge of blind drawing seriously, competing with each other to create the best picture. After saving a hard boiled egg from near death and embarking on a treasure hunt around the school, they created their own courses for each other. All of the projects were creative and featured a range of activities from poetry writing to lip reading and a magical stick.
Each class took to their new roles brilliantly and completed the tasks with commitment and initiative.
