Mentoring
BESST School has been organizing regular mentoring meetings for several years.
• What is mentoring?
Mentoring is a relationship in which an experienced individual (mentor) shares their knowledge, support, and guidance with a mentee to help them develop personal and professional skills and achieve their goals. This process is based on trust and mutual communication.
• How is mentoring carried out?
TEACHER-LED MENTORING
Throughout the school year, our students have access to a mentor from among the teachers. During regular meetings, usually once a month, they can talk about school, responsibilities, friends, family, or interests. Together, they set both long-term and short-term goals that the mentee aims to achieve.
STUDENT-LED MENTORING
How did the older students manage it all? At BESST, students have the opportunity to regularly meet with older students as part of the mentoring program. They show them how to handle the challenges of grammar school and are happy to share their tips and tricks.
• How does mentoring help?
Students receive individual support and guidance that help them succeed both academically and personally. They organize their thoughts, manage their time, clarify what they want to achieve, and their mentor advises them on how to reach their goals.
