During the 2025/2026 school year, our school took part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), an international personal development programme for young people aged 14 to 24.
The programme encourages students to develop a talent or skill, stay physically active, contribute to their community through volunteering, and, as the final challenge, complete an adventurous expedition with friends.
Taking part in DofE brings students many benefits. They:
learn how to set their own goals and find ways to achieve them,
improve their skills in activities they enjoy,
try something they have always wanted to experience,
take part in an unforgettable adventurous expedition and make new friends,
receive an internationally recognised certificate,
gain an advantage in the job market and when applying to university.
Students from different year groups took part in the programme. They continuously challenged themselves and worked towards achieving their goals, with some of them still completing their DofE journey.
We would like to express our appreciation and thanks for representing our school to the following students: Zara Adriana B. (V.M), Paula P. (V.M), Natália P. (V.A), Michaela Ď. (III.A), Alex M. (III.A), and Denis K. (III.A).
These students successfully completed their respective DofE levels before the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year, earning them an invitation to the DofE Award Ceremony in Bratislava, where they received a certificate and badge corresponding to their completed level.
As part of the programme, they successfully completed four areas that challenged them to develop and demonstrate their skills, commitment and perseverance.
We would like to thank all of the students for their dedication and for representing our school. We hope that the experience and skills they gained through the programme will continue to benefit them both in their personal lives and throughout their school journey.
