INTERVIEW WITH THE NEW PRINCIPAL

The end of the 2023/2024 school year at our school was marked by the election of a new head teacher. What motivated you to apply for this position?

I believe that quality education is a key contribution to society, and I felt it was time for me to be a part of it. I want to use everything I have learned and contribute to this school and the entire education system with my experience and skills.

A successful head teacher must combine the qualities of a good manager, teacher, and psychologist. How are you adjusting to your new role as a head teacher?

Although education is a new field for me, I see it as a great opportunity where I aim to succeed just as I did in the past 15 years as a manager and director. My goal is to achieve both success and the satisfaction of the school's founder. The beginnings are challenging, as I need to learn what is essential and a priority in education. Leading teachers is different from managing employees in private sector, but I believe I’m gradually adapting. Even when faced with difficult situations, I remain confident in achieving the goals I’ve set.

What are your ambitions and plans for the school? What do you like, what would you keep, and what would you like to change?

My goal for the school is to create efficient processes that ensure all tasks are completed on time. I want employees to work in a stable and pleasant environment where they feel good and look forward to coming to work. For our high school students, I want to provide a safe and stable environment where they have all the conditions for quality education throughout their five years of study.

It is often said that the younger generation is always different from the previous one. How do you perceive today’s students? Do you notice any differences compared to your generation when you were a student?

The biggest difference I notice is how often students use electronic devices like computers, tablets, and smartphones. Sometimes, they use them excessively, at the expense of physical activity and time spent outdoors in nature. I believe that more meaningful ways of spending time can bring them more valuable life experiences. Compared to my generation, I admire their determination, openness, communication skills, and ability to argue effectively.

What are your main priorities for the school in your first year as hear teacher?

To integrate myself into the role of head teacher as quickly and effectively as possible, ensure the school operates efficiently, and support its development in all areas.

What does your typical workday look like?

I wake up early, as I’m more of a morning person. I start by reading emails and addressing the most important tasks or finishing what I didn’t complete the day before. Each morning, I plan my tasks based on their priority. I always strive to complete all assignments on time and at the required quality level.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I regularly go to the gym and occasionally train in boxing. Reading is a major passion of mine. In spring, summer, and autumn, I enjoy gardening around the house. I love traveling and discovering new countries. I also enjoy watching good films or documentaries and spending time with family and friends.

What would you wish for your students in the future? What message would you like to give them for life?

I would like to wish my students courage and perseverance on their journey to education. May their thirst for knowledge guide them in overcoming all the obstacles life puts in their way. I hope they always have the support of the school and their loved ones, who will inspire and encourage them. True value lies in the depth of knowledge and the quality of experiences. Seek what fulfills and enriches you.
