We started the school year together with an adaptation course. We went on a field trip to Smolenice Castle, played games in nature, and enjoyed a fun program with the Wachumba team. Together, we experienced wonderful moments full of fun, getting to know each other, and teamwork.
The 2024/2025 school year is behind us.
One chapter has come to an end, but new horizons full of possibilities lie ahead.
We wish you a summer filled with joy, unforgettable experiences, and exciting discoveries.
Enjoy every moment, recharge your energy, and look forward to all the beautiful things the new school year will bring.

Three teams dove into an electrifying battle full of thrilling rallies, unexpected twists, and loads of emotions! Every match was incredibly intense and showed that the spirit of sport is truly alive in us.
After fantastic performances, the champion title went to Team ARABI. Huge congratulations for their amazing teamwork and well-deserved victory.
Team ONE-MAN SHOW took the silver spot! Their determination and fighting spirit were truly admirable. Hats off.
And while sport can only have one winner, Team MONGOLSKÉ MRAKI deserves recognition for their effort and participation.

FINAL EXAMS IN FULL SWING
Our high school students are currently facing one of the most important challenges of their lives – their final exams. After years of studying, learning, and experiencing both beautiful and tough moments, it’s time to show what they’re made of.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for all the graduates!
Wishing you steady nerves and a clear mind.
On the Wave of Challenges with DofE
Our Year 1 high school students have successfully completed their practice expedition as part of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award – DofE. A full day of canoeing and hiking tested not only their physical endurance but also their teamwork and determination. They proved they can take on challenges with enthusiasm and dedication.
CAMBRIDGE EXAM SEASON IS HERE
The months of May and June at BESST Private Bilingual High School are traditionally dedicated to Cambridge exam. Year II students take IGCSE exams in English, Math, Physics, and Biology, while students in Years IV and V in the international section sit for AS and A-level exams.
Interestingly, each year we also welcome several external candidates — students from other schools who are not enrolled at BESST but still have the opportunity to take their Cambridge exams on our campus. This is a unique opportunity that, in Slovakia, is offered exclusively by BESST.
Before sitting the exams, students follow the Cambridge curriculum. The exams themselves are conducted under the supervision of our teachers and strictly adhere to the official Cambridge assessment standards.
We wish all students success in their exams.
TEAMWORK WAS REWARDED WITH FIRST PLACE
Members of Student Union took part in a teambuilding event called Together We Can Achieve More at the Team Up center in Bratislava.
In a friendly and motivating atmosphere, they competed and tackled time-limited challenges as a team. Our girls ranked first among all participating teams!
The activity was supported by the Youth Council of the Trnava Region as part of the Erasmus+ project Participation in School Parliaments: Quality and Sustainable Solutions.
We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the workshop where our project was created — and funded.
We believe that this experience will help us improve the functioning of student union at out school in the upcoming school year.
EASTER MORNING FOR PRESCHOOLERS ORGANIZED BY THE STUDENT UNION
Three preschool classes – the “Giraffes” – kicked off the event by searching for colorful Easter eggs in the schoolyard. Afterwards, they rotated through various stations featuring both physical and logical activities. For each completed task, they received a stamp, and after collecting four, they were rewarded with a diploma and a small activity sheet to take home.
Our high school students read to preschoolers
The big ones read to the little ones – our students visited a preschool and read captivating stories to the children. We spent enjoyable moments together, not only by connecting the youngest children with the oldest students, but also fostering a love for reading and imagination.
We’re already looking forward to more shared moments and new stories!
Physics in Action!
Physics in Action!
In the recent physics lessons, our students explored optics and mechanics. Classes II.A and II.B worked in the lab to calculate the refractive index of a transparent plastic block, while Class I.B investigated Hooke’s Law and determined the spring constant of a spring.
Check out these snapshots from their experiments.
SKI TRIP
Unforgettable Ski Course in Austrian Gerlitzen
From February 10 to 14, 2025, our students embarked on an adventure to the slopes of the beautiful Austrian resort of Gerlitzen. Throughout the week, they fully enjoyed the snowy slopes, improved their skiing skills, and shared unforgettable moments together. The fantastic atmosphere was undeniable, as evidenced by the attached photos.

We would like to thank all the visitors who came to get to know our school, the atmosphere and the opportunities we offer. It was a day full of inspiration, meetings and unforgettable moments. We look forward to seeing all our future students and we hope to see you again soon!
CHRISTMAS MARKET
In the past few weeks, our students prepared a program for the Christmas workshops and Christmas market. The organization was handled by the Student union and they did fantastic job. They sang Christmas songs and carols for the teachers and parents, creating a wonderful festive atmosphere.
Together, we made beautiful Christmas decorations, delicious gingerbread cookies and Christmas-themed soaps. We enjoyed the Christmas spirit with traditional cabbage soup, good food, and aromatic punch.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this beautiful event!
OPEN DAY
Last week, we opened our doors to all those interested in studying at our bilingual high school. We prepared a diverse program for parents and students year 8 and 9, which also attracted many external visitors.
Parents attended a presentation about our high school and the opportunities it offers, while students experienced classes in English with native speakers, English Mathematics and Physics, History, Slovak, Civics, and foreign languages such as German and Spanish.
Finally, SBG BESST students showcased their extracurricular activities and projects, including DofE, Academy of Great Works, mentoring, and the debate club. We hope you had an inspiring time with us.
Interview with the finalist in the TOP 10 teaching personalities
We present to you the inspiring Natália Jedličková, a teacher at our Private Bilingual Gymnasium BESST, who was nominated for the prestigious Teacher Personality of Slovakia 2023 award and made it into the TOP 10!
Natália is an exceptional teacher who teaches biology. Her heart belongs to children and her approach inspires students to enjoy learning.
Watch her interview and get to know her better. Be inspired by her story and passion for education!
PODCAST WITH THE TRNAVA MAYOR AT OUR SCHOOL
Our school was one of ten selected venues in Slovakia to host a recording of the Spectator College podcast this school year. Students had a unique opportunity to participate in a moderated discussion in English with a special guest. The invitation was accepted by Peter Bročka, mayor of the city of Trnava, who shared his views on experiences and challenges he is facing.
The students learned about the day-to-day work of the mayor and received valuable advice on personal development, teamwork and maintaining integrity in political environment. At the end the students could ask the mayor questions on the topics that they were interested in.
We are glad that we could to be part of this inspiring interview.
Participation of School Parliaments: Quality and Sustainable Solutions
together with members of the student union, Ella Dagmar Kollarovits and Leon Keketi, we attended the introductory presentation meeting of the project organized by the Youth Council of the Trnava Region. The project, funded by Erasmus+, aims to support the development and quality of student parliaments. Our student union will have the opportunity to participate in training sessions, acquire new skills, create our own project, and present it at a conference.
Cultural November
„It is only with the heart that one can see rightly."
This quote was confirmed at the performance of The Little Prince at the Jan Palarik Theatre. The poetic philosopher, The Little Prince, who did not understand the adult world, included us into his world and we understood him. Students of I. A and I. B enjoyed the performance and its interesting adaptation.
"Retake in Compulsory Reading" attracted us, grade IV students heading toward the school-leaving exam in Slovak, to the House of Culture two weeks later. Although we take our school-leaving exam in Slovak seriously, it was the light form of acting, which explained how easy it can be to get to know the soul of Slovaks and also their production, that gave us an additional taste to read even the obligatory reading works.
BALLET PERFORMANCE
We couldn't miss the amazing ballet performance called Carmina Burana. Students of II. A and IV. A and a few other art-loving kids enjoyed the performance of the SND ballet.
Carl Orff's beautiful cantata was inspired by one of the most sought-after contemporary choreographers, Edward Clug, and we witnessed his interpretation. The combination of music and dance was a fascinating celebration of life - and that was and still is very close to us, the young ones.
