On 21 and 23 October, the classrooms of I.A and I.B were transformed into an ancient Greek theatre. Thanks to the educational drama centre Edudrama, our students had the opportunity to experience the tragedy Antigone in a completely new and interactive way.
Through creative drama activities, the instructors from Edudrama drew the students right into the heart of the action. The students not only learned about the specific features of ancient drama in both theory and practice, but also actively engaged in tackling the challenging dilemmas faced by the story’s main characters. Exploring the boundaries between human and divine law, as well as between courage and obedience, culminated in a powerful moment of catharsis at the end of the performance.
These educational activities help our students engage more deeply with and better understand the complexity and diversity of the literary works they are required to study.
