The Duke of Edinburgh´s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (DofE) is a proven and comprehensive educational program for young people aged 14 to 24, operating under the patronage of the British Royal Family. The program was founded in 1956 and has since spread to more than 130 countries around the world, including Slovakia, where it has been active since 2007.
The aim of the program is to support the development of character traits and skills that are essential for the successful future of young people. Participants set personal goals in areas such as volunteering, physical activity, skills development, and adventure expeditions, and can earn an internationally recognized certificate for their efforts.
DofE has been proven to improve the employability of young people, have a positive impact on their physical and mental health, and encourage their involvement in their communities. In Slovakia, the program works with more than 200 schools and organizations where young people have the opportunity to participate in the program and develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
At our school, we offer this program as part of our extracurricular activities, supporting our students in their personal growth and preparation for future challenges.

On the Wave of Challenges with DofE
Our Year 1 high school students have successfully completed their practice expedition as part of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award – DofE. A full day of canoeing and hiking tested not only their physical endurance but also their teamwork and determination. They proved they can take on challenges with enthusiasm and dedication.
