TEDx arrived at Highschool today with four of our teachers delivering a speech to their students. Mr Rasto did it his way, emphasising the power of positivity, Mr Matej told us how he managed to become a near enough native speaker of English language.
Thanksgiving Day came to BESST today, all students and teachers took time to think about the things in their life that they are thankful for and decorated the High school Thanksgiving tree with their positive thoughts.
On Thursday, 2 November, 2017, Ema S., the first successful graduate of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program from the BESST High School, took part in the festive award ceremony that took place in the historic building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava.
Last week, as you may recall, BESST High School set themselves a lifestyle target each, ranging from eating more fresh fruit to sleeping for 7 hours a night for a week. Students and teachers alike threw themselves into the challenge.
Year I started up their Start up year at high school in an entrepreneurial spirit. Starting off their day by completing market research-finding out what people in our school love and hate about chocolate.
On Friday, during a full day of presentations, we were blessed with the presence of Juraj Zamborský, who was kind enough to come to our school and talk to us. Mr. Zamborský works at Kontentino, a small Slovak start-up that specialises in brand social media marketing.
On Monday 11.9.2017 year 1 and 2 students and class teachers set off to the remote, rural Planinka estates for an Adaptive Course. The mission of the 2 night trip was to develop bonds between classes through teamwork activities and, of course, to have fun.
